Add Record of Major Sediment Disasters: The April 4 Heavy Rain Event

In 2023, we published the updated information related to potential debris flow torrents and the rainfall threshold values for debris flow warning. Relevant agencies and specialists were invited to a review meeting on Dec.6th , updating total of 1,731 potential debris flow torrents, which covered 17 counties and cities, 159 townships, 690 villages. The potential areas and rainfall threshold value for large-scale landslide were added and set after the review meeting on Jan.9th, 2023. After the modification, total of 43 places of potential large-scale landslide areas were published, which covered 12 counties and cities, 29 townships, and 36 villages. The rainfall threshold values for debris flow and large-scale landslide warnings were published on Jan.19th, 2023, according to the official document (code: 農授水保字第1121866647號函)

Published the updated information related to potential debris flow torrents and potential large-scale landslide areas in 2022. Updated total of 1,729 potential debris flow torrents, which covered 17 counties and cities, 159 townships, 690 villages, among these 1,729 torrents, 3 were added in this update; total of 36 places of potential large-scale landslide areas were also published, which covered 11 counties and cities, 24 townships, 29 villages, among these 36 areas, 24 were added in this update. The relevant information has been published on SWCB Debris Flow Disaster Prevention Information Website on Jan. 20th, 2022. Citizens are welcome to check out online.

SWCB published the rainfall threshold values and influence areas of 12 places of potential large-scale landslide area (the 1st type). The relevant information has been published on SWCB official website and the Debris Flow Disaster Prevention Information Website(https://246.swcb.gov.tw/).

In 2021, there are 1,726 potential debris flow torrents in Taiwan, covered 17 counties and cities, 159 townships, and 690 villages. Among these, 781 torrents cross the aboriginal areas. The relevant information and the total list of rainfall threshold value for debris flow were published on the Debris Flow Disaster Prevention Information Website on Jan.7th, 2021, citizens are welcome to check out online.
